The shotgun is the replacement for felwinter's/matador/party crasher. Slugs should be a one shot kill at close range and a headshot kill at medium range. They're just making you use an exotic slot to get that level of performance out of your secondary.

No, i know that, but the pellets had a spread, so even if you didn't aim well, some of the pellets will hit and then you can just melee, but with that gun, if you miss, you simply miss and will most likely die, depending on the rate of fire of course.
