I'd run those robes in nightfalls and strikes these days. Not like I need the perks from any other exotic armor during those times. So why not farm extra glimmer.

So these robes are only good when you could get away with running around with any exotic or legendary in the spot instead and be just as effective... I guess they will fulfill their "i dont give a shit because i could be wearing any other piece of armor and it would only be a little bit better because this is too easy" role

Right. Exactly. And they look cool as ice too. Like a reskin on my beloved heart of praxic Fire. Yep. My new "just running around doing whatever" exotic has been discovered. Is it an awesome piece of game altering gear? Nah. But I'd expect to see less of those. Bungie has been saying "If there's only one best way to do it, we have failed." At least when it comes to what gear to use. Expect no more ghorns, ice breakers, thorns, etc. I loved that gear and will miss using it but this leaves us with a more balanced game in the end.
