Well that's like I said. Most, if not all other religions have some degree of earning.

So, either worship God or burn in hell? I know there must be a better explanation but that's all I'm really getting from what you're saying.
-
That's what it boils down to. It's a just punishment for sin. But, God has given everyone a chance to have all of their sin forgiven.
-
You can also worship God and commit sin. What is the rectification for sin that you're talking about?
-
Yes you can, but you can't reside eternally in his presence without your sin being punished.
-
Wouldn't that in turn be the ultimate version of earning? Worship God and take the punishment of your sins for the reward of his eternal presence
-
The punishment is eternal. And like I've said. You cannot earn your way to heaven in Christian theology.
-
So no one can reside with him because everyone commits a sin. Even the most microscopic sin will mean eternal punishment. What would be the point in worshipping god if everyones end means eternal damnation?
-
He came into his creation, lived a sinless life and then died as to take the punishment we deserve and if we trust that he did that he will impart to us his perfection.
-
Ah I see now, thanks for clearing it up! It was great discussing this with you

No problem
