It was broken into 50 pieces and scattered across the dreadnought. We have to find all 50 pieces and I'm guessing the gun smith will build it

Nope, different weapon. SS is confirmed to be obtained by a Questline for Banshee (gunsmith)

They didn't say that was the sleeper stimulant. And plus, I would imagine that weapon you're talking about would be Hive/Taken themed.
