I have been seeing a long of posts recently on the help forum and other sections on bnet calling for the banning of many users. I'm sure Bungie appreciates your efforts to make sure violators of the [url=https://www.bungie.net/en-us/View/bungie/conduct]Code of Conduct[/url] or cheaters are pointed out. However, doing so by posting their gamertag/usernames on the forums is [b][i]not ok[/i][/b]. This is frequently called "name and shaming" by the community. [b]Before you post something similar please read: [/b] If you are doing as such, you are violating the [url=https://www.bungie.net/en-us/View/bungie/conduct]Code of Conduct[/url], regardless if the person you are posting about is making some of the worst comments possible. [quote]Stuff That Sucks Personal attacks, harassment, or violations of privacy.[/quote] Although that may seem vague to some, you are violating this users privacy and leading others to actively harass the person you posted about. If you come across someone that is cheating in-game or saying some not-so-nice things on the forums, there are tools at your disposal to report them— [b]here they are:[/b] If you are in-game and find someone cheating please follow [url=https://www.bungie.net/7_How-do-I-report-a-player-while-in-Destiny/en/Help/Article/12960]this link[/url]. If said player is sending you nasty messages on XBL or on PSN, be sure to report the user in-game and to XBL and PSN. You can then block further contact to that user on your Xbox or Playstation. Trust me, their post will be seen by a moderator and the Banhammer will be used if necessary. If you don't want your post to say "Please ban [Redacted] because [insert reason]." Do not post their gamertag/username on these forums. Your threads will be edited, removed and you could potentially get you banned from the forums if you keep up this behavior consistently. While it does suck to play with cheaters or to be harassed in-game or on the forum, you have tools at your disposal to make sure they are reported and you should use them. Going on the forums to name and shame does nothing positive, it simply keeps feeding the beast— so to speak. Feel free to link this in any future "Ban [Redacted]...." posts you come across.
