So I've been seeing more and more posts about aim assist on sniper scopes, so I'm gonna just put the info here so people can access it easily.
All currently known aim assist values for scopes:
Ambush (4.5X zoom): -10
TacSyS (6X zoom): +15
Shortgaze (4.5X zoom): +15-20
Hawkeye (6X zoom):+20
Longview SLR10 (5X zoom): +30
SightSyS (8X zoom): +30
all values determined from taking raid, PoE, and ToO snipers and using their min/max AA to determine scope AA

this was discovered by Pwagidy and all credit goes to him, but I did double check the values just to make sure
Both EagleEye and LongviewSLR20 aim assist values cannot be determined yet, but we know it is a value less than or equal to 30 aim assist. Both scopes are fairly high zoom though (9X and 7X), so it's not like they're the best option in PvP for most.
It should also be mentioned that certain scopes add handling, some do the opposite. Handling, in case you didn't know, increases the speed of your weapon's draw time, away time, and ADS.
Scopes that add it:
-Ambush
-Shortgaze
-TacSyS
-Longview SLR10
Because of this, the 4 scopes which add handling are going to be your best option in PvP. The 6X zoom on TacSyS is not too much to handle, and the scope itself adds lots of good stats onto your gun. Ambush is a fan favourite, but if you're looking for AA then don't use it. Shortgaze and longview are both great, but shortgaze is usually preferred, due to it's lower zoom.
If you have difficulty drag scoping or twitch sniping with lower aim assist, adding AA won't make you a headshot machine, although it will be easier to learn. I personally learned destiny sniping on praedyth's revenge and efrideet's spear... Both with ambush (2 lowest AA legendary snipers in-game). I've now switched over to shortgaze as I think it's more aesthetically pleasing, and current "raid-tier" snipers have it.
Try sticking to one scope, make sure all of your snipers have that scope and only use it. It will help let you become much more comfortable with your snipes. I would recommend shortgaze, as it adds aim assist, but not a ridiculous amount, the zoom is low, and it adds handling.
Overall, the best scope is the one that feels the best to you, use whatever you're most comfortable with.
Anyways, I hope this helps! Comment if you have any other questions.
