Seems to be the case with most games, the gear in WoW became progressively worse everytime, with the exception of the level 70 raid and arena gear that looked awesome, everything else sucked big time and began to look completely fake. In most cases originals are the best. dismantled my armour too though kept a few weapons.
If they do introduce transmog though you'd still be missing out on that old gear, would have to use all these new armour sets.

If they do introduce Diablo style Transmog they'd better make it retroactive for items you've owned, there's almost no point if I can't use the armor I like, that's the whole point of having Transmog in the first place

But is destiny able to remember items you've previously owned? Depends how much information they have stored.

I don't care about having a unique look that no one else can get anymore, I just want a proper variety for everyone so that everyone can look how they like and not all look the same.
