Cod isn't innovating anymore though. I feel like destiny isn't just a copy paste shooter unlike most of the other FPSs on the market.

Edited by Pheint3d: 8/27/2015 1:31:22 AMIt's kinda hard for fps games to really be innovative without breaking the game or making it no longer feel like an fps. It's become pretty common for games to barrow ideas from each other too. If its different enough though, their own spin on it, it's usually a good thing. Like technology. Destiny is a new franchise, that's much more ambitious
also not claiming to be a straight fps game
, however the mechanics like aim and shoot are pretty much a copy and paste from call of duty though.
ADS is what I'm referring to, how both games have the same penalties and bonuses, like movement penalty hipfire accuracy penalty jumping causing accuracy to fall, crit damage on head shots, needing perks to bypass penalties etc.
Edit - neither of these games are my cup of tea, but I have tried both. One to play with a friend since its his main game, the other from being excited about its concepts, though I unfortunatley became dissatisfied and dissapointed.

One FPS that is really good to this day is Half Life 2. While it may not seem that impressive by today's standards it's still different from the rest f the shooters.
-
It's pretty awesome when a game can withstand the test of time.
-
Yes it is. Unfortunately a lot of other great games have not aged as well. I do not think destiny will be a game that can withstand the test of time though.
-
It kinda is see those dlcs
-
A few changes and gimmicks here and there isn't innovating.
-
I'm talking about destiny the dlcs are cut and past un original
-
And I'm talking about how cod doesn't really evolve and innovate anymore.
-
It doesn't evolve and innovate anymore because most things have been thought of
-
That's simply untrue. It's they've found a formula that keeps people buying their games.
-
The formula was the brand name from the ww1 and ww2 games
-
No. The brand name is part of it, just like halo or other big game series. However, the changes between games have been growing smaller and smaller.
-
You call the exos, thrusts, and supers not being changes? People don't like change according to the newer cods.
-
The game still played the same though. All the exo suits did was add a gimmick.
