It's part of his opinion. I'm sure you've had an opinion of someone using that same word. You probably didn't mean anything negative by it but it was how you felt at that moment

In America we're actually allowed to share opinions even if they are unpopular and we are allowed to dislike people for whatever reason. Mr fruit is -blam!-ing annoying
