Obviously it'll never happen but assuming they were gonna reduce the price you still wouldn't get it that low. We pay VAT at 20% remember so you want to add about £5.40 onto the converted price

Companies will use price elasticity to come to a price, they have pretty much assumed we are fixed on the game and because of this the elasticity of the price is so high the can set a price that blows away any price for dlc in the past.

They pay tax after sale I believe ie on top of the $40. Not sure of exact amount but I think it's around 10% I'm not saying that I agree with the pricing just that your calculation of what it's worth based on the American price is wrong. As to whether it's worth the price or not I suppose that comes down to how much the end product entertains me and how many hours I get out of it before I've had enough amongst other factor. That particular aspect is completely subjective and will vary from person to person

  • I don't think it is wrong even with vat is doesn't equal £40. Plus the price is out of sync with previous dlc on pretty much any game

  • Whether you think it's wrong or not is irrelevant, your calculations haven't included all applicable factors and that's that. With regards to what you think it's worth (completely different thing from your attempt at currency conversion) as I've already pointed out is subjective. If you don't think it's worth it then don't buy it, if you do then do. That's your call, I can assure you nobody actually cares what you do or don't do with your money

My calculations as a consumer come down to what price I've paid for previous dlc' s. Yes as 1 person I'm irrelevent to bungie as the majority have willingly accepted it.....

  • Nope, pretty clear that your calculation was based on $40 = £27. The other part was just tagged on at the end. Funnily enough though it managed to ignore the fact that it's a bigger DLC than previous ones. Bigger things cost more, it's the same with everything, this is nothing new.....

Yep...usual dlc about 18, so ok be paying more at 27...sure add the tax to 31, I'd maybe pay that....but exchange rate says $40 is roughly 27 I didn't ignore it was a bigger dlc, I've written in there.

  • Regardless of what exchange rate says we would pay more. That's completely outwith Bungie's control. You're basically whining for the sake of £8. It's hardly gonna break the bank and if it does then you have far more important things to be worrying about.

  • Yep...It's not about the money, I have the money ready, but il spend it else where, you are not a good consumer, you make it to easy for companies, as a consumer you should be getting the most for your money and not be paying over the odds, I respect you disagree with me, but I'm not going to agree with you, we are going to continue to go round in circles so I'm going to stop, but it has been nice talking to you

  • Lol, alright buddy. As a consumer I have the right to decide what I feel is of value and pay accordingly. Much as you have the right not to pay if you feel you are not getting value. There is no such thing as "good consumers" or "bad consumers" that's just idiotic terminology thrown around by those who can't accept that people have differing views from their own. Price differences between countries is not a new thing, what other people pay is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is your own perception of a products value.

  • As consumers we can have an effect on pricing, if we accept to much they will walk all over us. But yes you can do as you like, it's your money
