I don't understand how the price others pay influences your decision.
Fair?? No. But if you see value at a price point then buy TTK.
Your decision on every purchase you make answers a question: Is the value > the cost.

No not at £40, I would pay the equivelent of $40. Makes sure you pop into my shop sometime, il remember to raise my prices just for you...ka-ching. I will put an extra 30% on top of what everybody else pays...Il make sure to spread the word so every place you go to does the same

That is fair - you raise the prices. Maybe I will buy, maybe not. What I won't do is stand around the cash register whining about what other people pay.
