But you are still using your exotic helmet to power up your super, so I think his point still stands. Not to mention that the Templar's Well encounters in VoG present you with hordes of tightly clustered, comparatively weak enemies in a way that you don't see in many other endgame PvE encounters. Fist of Havoc and Nova Bomb can be unimpressive in endgame PvE in their own rights, however, so it does balance out a bit. The endgame just seems to favor defensive supers, and the Hunter doesn't have one. Arc Blade is just bad, though. Actually attacking with it is suicidal.

  • Even without Achlyophage my killing prowess with GG is impressive. All throughout hard mode VoG I had to use Crest of Alpha Lupi to be level 30. Even with only 3 shots my fireteam were still impressed with how many orbs of light I generated. Personally, I think Symbiote is the best Gunslinger exotic armor anyways. I don't feel like I am sacrificing much to wear it. And yes, Arc Blade is the fail. Just the lack of orb generation turns me off to it. And it could really use a PvE shield buff.

  • I heard once that early on Arc Blade had better damage resistance, but that they reduced it because of the difficulty countering it in PvP. On the topic of rebalancing Arc Blade, tell me what you think of this. Reduce the damage resistance slightly, increase the duration, and give Bladedancers the Vanish talent for free bound to the ADS trigger. This means that Bladedancers can use the stealth that defines the class in PvE to approach or escape enemies without sacrificing the offensive skills they need, while in Crucible they'd have to plan their attacks more carefully, since observant players can notice them even when in stealth. The bubble where the Vanish talent resides currently could then have a new talent designed specifically to compensate for the super's PvE shortcomings. I'd like to see either a shuriken barrage that causes the target(s) to take more damage, similar to the Sunbreaker melee talent, or a "Falcon Punch" style attack that can inflict significant damage on a major target.
