It's that transphobic? So just because a person is Transgender you can't make a light joke about that person? Isn't transphobia like a hatred towards that group or not wanting them to not have equal rights? I don't see how that tweet matches that.

I'm sure every homophobic is not secretly gay or afraid to be gay. I'm sure phobias can lead to people hating others and discriminating. In any case North is not transphobic.

A phobia is a type of anxiety disorder, usually defined as a persistent fear of an object or situation in which the sufferer commits to great lengths in avoiding, typically disproportional to the actual danger posed, often being recognized as irrational.

That's the general definition. When you put it into a social context like homophobia and transphobia it can be more than fear. Transphobia (or much less commonlytransprejudice) is a range of antagonistic attitudes and feelings against transsexualityand transsexual or transgender people, based on the expression of their internal gender identity (see Phobia – Terms for prejudice). Researchers describe transphobia as emotional disgust, fear, anger or discomfort felt or expressed towards people who do not conform to society's gender expectations,

from now on the term "Liberal" means coward regardless of the long established definition. Why, because it suits my agenda.

No need to get so defensive. The problem is calling it homo or Trans phobia. It's,not about people literally being afraid of those groups of people. Whomever coined the terms should have never called it a phobia.

That is exactly my point. The term is used to silence opposing view points. I was out at wedding party and my friends gay sister literally tried to bait me into an argument about homosexuals and when I would play along she accused me of being homophobic. We all sat around the table completely shocked that she was so transparent about enticing an argument then insulting people when it didn't go her way.

No it cannot, it is a word that is intentionally misused. In every context phobia is fear. People are not prejudiced against heights, spiders, saran wrap, or enclosed spaces. They have an irrational fear. I give a rats ass if researchers misuse a word and pass it off as reality. This all started when people started using homophobia as a real word now it is applied in any argument when someone wants to shame the opposition. This is the typical liberal mindset. If you against taking guns away you don't care about kids dying. If you don't by into the Global Warming hype you don't care about the environment. If you against abortion for birth control but are ok with it for -blam!- victims your a baby killers. If you speak against our welfare state you are greedy and heartless. Why pose a valid argument when you can try to shame people instead
