Well, the nature of jokes, and all human interaction, is that what is offensive to some people is neutral or inoffensive to others. I explained what is "wrong" and "objectionable" about North's tweet. I personally don't think there's much about being transgender that's a particularly good source of humor. To my mind, barring an actual physical/mental disability, it's probably the worst defect to be born with. To be born trapped in a body that doesn't match your gender identity? It is literally unimaginable to me. It's torture. I have a family member who is dealing with this every moment of every day as we laugh and joke about it on the internet. So, am I getting out my pitchfork for North? No. It's a bad joke. I've made my fair share of bad jokes about topics that weren't really worth joking about and aren't really funny, transgender included. He also already offered up a (weak) apology. But I do look at that joke and think, "you know what? That's not -blam!-ing funny."
