Clan Support Critical Analysis

Alright, I think it's pretty obvious to anyone who's spent any amount of time organizing and managing a Destiny clan (successfully) that we've (community at large, unless you want to be a nitwit about it, then we'll just say myself and my staff) had to pretty well get along on our own in what I can only describe as work-arounds (of the current bungie.net clan system), to make the clan experience a supportive, inclusive and engaging experience. Some key criticisms - We had to source our own 3rd party chat app and clan site. It's pretty silly that we can't practically use our b.net clan page as a serious base of operations. - When adding new members, it's nearly always required to give them a step by step tutorial. To illustrate, Deathcite420x (<-- made that one up, as an example) wants to join my clan. We have the initial dialogue establishing that fact. Then I explain how they need to navigate to our clan page, hit request to join and wait on us to accept them... Then, because they're not actually a member of the clan yet, I have to send them back to the page and instruct them to set us as their clan (usually explaining that this button is in the same spot as the initial 'request to join' button). These are not instructions given to a stoic group of good listeners, this is a confusing process on prospective new members' end of things too. Why would the system be organized this way? Beats the hell out of me. - It does not stop there, I've had to create step by step manuals to quickly assist players with entering our 3rd party chat apps and joining our website. While this may not directly be the fault of the current clan system, it's an unavoidable symptom of it (assuming a certain quality of clan organization and administrative effort). - 0 Roster support. There is no in-game roster consisting only of your clanmates. This has two inherent problems with it. If my clanmates want to play with each other they have to add each other manually. What a pain, not just for the effort of it but for the sake of keeping some sort of manageable accounting of your clan mates online. The second issue is the bigger one. What happens when you need to kick a player? Well you CAN remove them from the clan but now they've been added by a good chunk of your members probably. They're showing up in your fireteams for clan activities, free to continue whatever behavior had them banned originally. This really hurts the clan experience. I'm left inviting my members to remove kicked ex-members as my only way to address this. It doesn't work very well. I'd like to at the very least see these issues addressed in the future.
