People like you make me sick!!! We as a society have killed the freedom of speech through the fear of losing your job. The fear of being ridiculed yourself because of something you either believe in or jokingly make a comment about!
What if he was making of a rich republican? What if he made a statement demoralizing pedophiles! Its freedom of speech! Thats all! You do not have to like it. But you have to respect it.

Technically, he/she is right. Freedom of speech protects you from government persecution but it does not mean you can say whatever you want without other consequences.
