To the people thinking being transphobic is ok:
No matter what I say to you, your always going to stick to your same beliefs, people like you always do.
So I'm going to save my breath by just saying:
I'm here to stop hurting. Do you know how many people were offended by that comment? I don't like the idea of innocent people hurting when they did nothing wrong no matter what they say they are or how much it goes against our normal and traditional thinking.
If you did nothing wrong, you don't deserve to be hurt. Especially over something you simply don't control.
The longer we accept this type of culture the longer more and more people hurt and hate themselves. Do you support a culture where hurt and hatred is the norm?
Edit: why are straight/cisgendered people so dramatic about everything like when you bring up sexuality they’re like BUT THEN EVERYONE WILL WANT TO -blam!- EVERYTHING WHERE DO WE DRAW THE LINE, THE LINE, WHERE IS IT?!
the line is consenting adults. boom. done. please calm down.

I'm sure some people from the LGBTS community took offense to the joke, but there is also a large portion of people who weren't necessarily offended by the joke. Not being transgender, my feelings of the joke was that it was meant to be an insult joke, much like the jokes seen on a roast. He was just cow ting in how Caitlyn has let her self go. More a jab towards personal fitness than anything of a more malicious intent. He also used the proper noun "she" in referring to Caitlyn, not "he", solidifying my perception of the joke as just common Twitter banter. Now before I make people angry, I can also see were this joke can be construed as offensive and transphobic. The joke was directed towards Caitlyn, a recently open transgender. He could have said the joke about any one else, but why her? Personally it all comes down to the persons own concept of what makes transphobia, and what doesn't, and that is why this fiasco is very heated. Note: I will gladly argue my points with others who bring intellectual thought and plausible facts in a discussion. Not like a "my way is the only way" type of arguing either, but a "my point seem to be correct because of a, b, and c" type arguing. Sorry for the long post, it's been a while since I could do something like this

Edited by joegarzapsn: 8/29/2015 4:34:15 AMThis is what happens in our society when "everyone is a winner".. No one knows how to lose.. No one has a thick skin.. People walk around offended.. Honestly, I could care less. If people can't handle life, that's there problem. Shit happens, that's the way it works.
-
ya exactly, why did he pick her?, a known controversial transgender person, who just recently went through transition
-
So you want a society of easily offended... are you kidding me were you not taught how to deal with people picking on you as a child? Or are you one of the adults that cry if they get cussed out by a 12 year old on CoD
-
We don't need to "fix" people that are sensitive. That's just the way they are and there's nothing wrong with that. There's something wrong with something else.
-
We're you droped as a child man? We don't need to toughen up wimps? Are you serious you want other people o change because some people can and will cry over every little thing. Humanity has made it how far without an uproar to save people's feelings. Its part of growing up you don't stay a wimp forever
-
transgender's emotions are greater than transphobic's inability to change
-
Now your saying that they are more emotional than other people, which is a lie. And saying transphobia should change the way the think and trannys shouldnt, which is a double standard. Your move
-
lol where did you get that im saying that trans people are more emotional than normal people... i didnt even hint towards that. lol trans people are not able to change their identity(even if they wanted to) just so that they can fit into people's expectations of them based upon their assigned sex at birth. Not everyone will fit into your expectations of gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. thats the real world, wether you like it or not. get used to it bud
-
Not everyone will fit into your expectations of gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. thats the real world, wether you like it or not. get used to it bud
Not everyone will like you for the way you think or get offended either. That's the real world wether you like it or not. Get used to it bud.
Not everyone will like you for the way you think or get offended either. That's the real world wether you like it or not. Get used to it bud.
Translation: I can be a dick and you can't do anything about it
-
Same thing as you said just worded different. If you want to try and make a statement double prove yourself to be 2 sided on the matter. And yes you just did and contradicted yourself on it... twice. Now go ride off on you horse Internet white night I think there's a girl that needs your obsessions.
-
there's a big difference; I'm not being a dick to anyone. Why is it that you think being straight and cis-gendered is by default?
Now go ride off on you horse Internet white night I think there's a girl that needs your obsessions.
What the actual -blam!- are you even saying? What does this even supposed to mean?
