On the subject of Community Engagement, have you seen David Vonderhaar's (lead Developer of Treyarch, but you knew that right? ;) ) recent twitter activity RE the Black Ops 3 beta? Hes been schooling the entire industry on community engagement. Hes not even a community manager, hes the -blam!-ing studio lead LOL.
Explaining reasoning behind controversial hotfixes, asking people for connection info to help iron out MM etc, gently calling out people who connect via wifi/have shitty broadband, explaining why he feels something doesnt need a nerf, or if it is going to be looked at, explaining that of course the game wont run smoothly because its a beta...
I mean, yes, its twitter, so its quick and not massively chin-strokingly in-depth, but its constant communication about balance and connectivity and all sorts. I understand how and why devs and studios clam up, but this man is setting an awesome example atm. If you havent checked this out, I suggest you do, and hold Vahns conduct aloft as an example for all.
