I've heard that I could get Titan kills if I had a Titan in my Fireteam. Either this is bugged for me or no longer works

It hasn't worked like that (fireteam member kills being counted) for quite a while now. Can't remember exactly when they stopped being counted, but it was before this year.

I was referring to PvP kills as a class. You do not get fireteam credit for "Crucible kills as class X" for the various class grimoire cards. You can get assist/proximity credit for "Crucible kills of class X" for the class cards. At launch, we got grimoire credit for both of those.
