Speaker: if anything the legends and myths were an understatement. I think all of us have purposely forgotten what happened to beat that machine. Only one ally still remembers what happened that day to defeat xylar. And that is the stranger. Go, seek out the stranger and ask her how to defeat the [i]true[/i] lord of time. Or all is lost.

Then again, Atheon isn't the lord of Time, he just regulates the Time Confluxes, so he makes it so Time Travel is possible for the Vex with their technology. Having a new boss with the title Lord of Time is completely viable with saying the TRUE lord of time

He is forged by the darkness rather then born as a vex. The name "timeless" comes from when he banished in time, he doesn't exist in our universe because atheon, along with many other high axis minds in our galaxy put a seal on him, forbidding him from entering our world. Good point, he could be really either, just how Crota has differing titles (Son of Oryx, Hive Prince) Xylar could be considered both timeless and the lord of time, controlling time from outside of any known timeline
