[spoiler]I later learned this isn't a one person thing but apparently someone made this up that became popular and is actually believed by too many IMO. I get the idea but still dumb[/spoiler]

I mean, she's right and wrong. The hotter you body is, the faster it will cool down, but once it gets to where it would've been without the hot coffee it will cool at the same rate it would have earlier.

Actually, its kinda true. When you have a fever, your body temperature rises. When your body temperature us higher in relation to the room temperature it makes you feel cold. That's why when you have a fever, you're cold.
