The "new endgame" seems to be a global term for the redesigned endgame content in Year two - including Nightfall. While existing raids will be available, I doubt your limited "new" defense will hold up. Logic is fun. By removing context and focusing on a single word you can create wonderful conclusions. But I would rather keep that context and use a mix of logical inference, and experience. From the update: 1) [quote]Once you’ve completed the new story campaign, a whole new suite of endgame activities will beckon.[/quote] 2) Discussion follows, Nightfall has been redesigned for Year 2, Weekly strikes moved to Vanguard Heroic. 3) [quote]Oryx lies between you and these challenges[/quote] While the article is ambiguous in that special Bungie way, it is neither unreasonable, nor stupid to conclude that participation on Nightfall strikes in year 2 will require purchase of TTK. From a business perspective, I cannot see why bungie would continue to service users who are making no further contribution. For those of us who do buy the TTK expansion, doing so radically devalues the content offering.
