I've seen a depressing trend lately of people trying to be trolls. I remember a troll was someone who could lay a bait with such craft that you could swear it was a legitimate thread. Theyed post articles backing up their stance and everyone would bite. Later they would even accuse others of trolling if they disagreed with the op.
Today the inheritors of the flood, now off topic, think that trolling means leaving a hashtag to let everyone know you're trolling. Or spamming people with copypastas and repeating the same internet banter. It just saddens me to see how low the art of trolling has degraded.
Thoughts?

Edited by AnAverageGamer: 9/1/2015 6:24:04 PMWhy take the time to troll when you can get far more replies and attention by posting simple gimmicks or mindless attention threads? Things like "I just ate a sandwich AMA", making a thread dedicated to spamming things like Lenny faces, or repeating something stupid for a month like "'Cause you didn't drank Doritos. Casual" earns you the same amount of fame here, if not more, so why bother? Why try putting effort into a huge troll thread that will probably get buried under a pile of "I just farted, AMA"s?
