Wondering if this whole "philosophy" thing is just a convenient excuse for a crappy infrastructure. Starting to think maybe their system can't handle the amount of people playing at once if optional matchmaking were implemented for most game modes. Easier on the system if people are on external sites looking for teammates instead of playing the game. Might be also why they put forced matchmaking on the Heroic Strike. Acting like they were doing people a favor but actually eliminating solo players and cutting Heroic strike traffic to 1/3 of what it was. This is probably a stupid theory, but I felt like throwing it out there.

I think it's just so you'll have to convince all your friends to go out and buy it. Simple as that.

  • Possibly- mm must use server power and therefore money Bungie are looking at the bottom line. Use less server power/space and save bucks. Maybe that's why they keep removing content when they put in new content i.e blades of crota etc
