Well, Crota and Oryx were mentioned in Vanilla story. Not sure what else there was from Year 1 story that could be for a future expansion.
Maybe everything else will be from scratch?

Rasputin. It's goals are to protect earth and we're about to be invaded again by the darkness. Time for Rasputin to really kick it into gear.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got hints in TTK story missions. I even ones that don't have anything to do with the immediate story.
