This is more of an opinion, but why do you think that vandal helped Cayde-6?

I think the fallen really aren't that different than us, only that during their collapse the traveler left where in ours it was crippled and remains a source of light. They want the traveler back and we are in their way, but outside of that, I don't believe we would be fighting them. They definitely are our enemy but I think both would recognize that the hive and vex are a bigger threat, than each other. So in the heat of battle, two enemies see the larger mutual threat, and for a moment have a truce.

I'm assuming that vandal was part of House Exile, which are even less threat than most Fallen.

It does say the vandal was in exile colors, so I agree, even more reason that this particular fallen was less aligned with the beliefs/politics of the other fallen houses. Look at variks. He alone is proof that some fallen can be reasoned with, even allied with (though I don't fully trust him).

I kind of do. He supplies me no reason to believe that he would betray the queen.

Thank you for the answer. I always thought the Fallen were the least of our worries, except when it comes to Skolas and the House of Wolves when they thought it was a good idea to work together with the Vex. The undead creatures and time traveling, organic robots are much scarier and larger threats than space pirates.
