There are worse game series than COD. Battlefield comes to mind

That's not b8. I genuinely dislike battlefield.

Battlefield is nowhere near as lacking in quality as CoD. Personal opinions aside, they simply put out a better product, the only major complaint for BF4 was the godawful server problems. Other than that there wasn't really much wrong with it from a development standpoint. CoD on the other hand has a slew of issues.
