I can't even. As much as I'd like to see the game excel, I can't stomach the thought anymore. It's good to see that Marty won though. Hopefully with some of his well-deserved funds he can build up his own studios, Highwire Games (or whatever it's called).
So, leave Microsoft's dorky-looking, firm leash for Activi$ion's barbed, suffocating leash. And then suck up to the leash's holder. Makes sense.

This really needs to be more well known

-blam!-ing activision is pissing me off so much, I'd personally go to North Korea and have the same guys who hacked Sony completely wipe activisions computers. They've destroyed so many franchises now, and it saddens me. The beautiful games of my childhood are so quickly turned into old cows in pain, but activision just keeps milking them and no one cares. At this point I'm confident that bungie will go down in flames if we don't do something about activision

PRAISE MARTY DOWN WITH BUNGIE
-
This is really the first reason I've had to come back to this website in over a year. Shame what has happened to this company. But alas all things change.
-
I'm glad. When I first heard about Marty's departure, I suspended judgment since I figured I didn't have all the details. Now that we're starting to learn more about Bungie's current inner workings, I can't help but feel more than a bit disgusted. What the hell happened to Bungie anyway? Where is the pantheon of snarky humor? Where is the personality? Where is the webmaster? It's like every bit of soul, personality, and creativity has been slowly and steadily stripped away, leaving nothing but an undead husk behind. It started long before the Activision Deal... Why do I even come to these forums anymore? :(
-
Can we change this forum section to "Bungie don't make us have Marty kick your ass"??? I really want to see Marty vs. Luke Smith! God he is such a bad spokesman to have for Bungie...... Like Batman "KAPOW" "KABLAM" "Throw this knuckle sandwich at the screen!" Tell them the truth of why you cut the content, no more lies! "BLAMMERS" the truth will come out that the lawsuits were already underway and that's why you cut/charged them so much for a couple emotes and exotics! "SLAM!"

I hope this ordeal acts as a warning to other developers. Activision harms friendships. In all seriousness though, I'm glad Marty got what was owed to him. It sucks to see Bungie do that to one of their veteran employees. I really want to hear Staten's story as to why he left. It's probably similar to Marty's story though: Activision stepping on their toes in the creative process. It certainly says a lot though when you are willing to leave your company (Bungie) and go work for the one you were trying to get away from (Microsoft). I can't wait for this ten year deal to be over so we can hear all the horror stories.

Bump for marty and bump for -blam!- bungievision

Edited by Starseid: 9/5/2015 3:13:30 PMJust saw this. Goes to show how bad of an idea siding with Acitivision was. We all called it, even after AV said that Bungie was in artistic control we all called BS and look how right we were. @Bungie Staff, Im not sure where you think Marty "Damaged" you companies image? This is actually the first time i've heard of Marty lashing out. Sure it was a stupid move on his part, but it honestly is justifiable for what you and Activision did. Ryan seems to be the biggest issue. He kept pushing for Marty's termination like he's been wanting him gone. Now look, you fired one of your best employees and only have half of what made it good. You're leaking money and Marty has a considerable amount of money in your stock due to yours and Activision's idiotic decisions. Here is to hoping the rest of Ryans employment will be the worst time of his life. Because he, and he alone, has done more damage that a petty Twitter post from Marty.

I've been a Bungie fan since before Halo, I've always loved reading about the culture Bungie has with the pentathlons and Bungie day and the relationship with the fans, and when they left Microsoft I was so pumped for the direction they were heading, and even when they signed with crooked ass Activision I trusted that they knew what they were doing and would never get into bed with a company like that unless they were 100% sure that they could control content. Apparently I was wrong. I always had this vision of Bungie as being this family of talented people that would always be together making awesome stuff, but since the MS split it feels like we've seen a steady exodus of top Bungie people, and the firing of Marty took the cake. I've said this before, I don't know what title Jason Jones holds, but he should be in charge of he isn't already, because at this rate those that are in charge are going to ruin the company, because Bungie is supposed to be about more than just making money.

After reading this, everything wrong about the game, comes to light. You fired a friend over what? To make activision happy they get their way. You or activision didn't like the music he made an was to coward to say to his face? You dirty laundry just got air to everyone showing what a backstabbing move you all did on Marty, and now people will see what you truely hold to value.... And it's dam sure not artistic integrity.

-blam!- Harold Ryan and -blam!- Activision I'll never forgive them (mainly for Crash and Spyro)

Edited by D-Von, Kell of Tables: 9/5/2015 11:21:44 PMIf only Bungie would have backed thier cofounder instead of throwing him to the wolves. Glad to see he won and its digusting to see how easily Bungie is willing to throw thier own friends and allies away. Imagine what else they will do. If Marty was disposable then what does that say about the detication to thier fans? Also that smile is like git rekt scrubs

This is all activisions fault, make no mistake
