AND THEY GAVE US THE MIDDLE FINGER!!!
The ODonnell vs Bungie legal battle is over and the truth prevail and is visible for all of Us to see and confirm that BUNGIE NO LONGER CARES FOR QUALITY, BUNGIE NO LONGER CARES FOR THEIR FANS, BUNGIE ONLY CARES OF PROFITS.
Marty stood against Activision decision to transform the musical score of Destiny from a gourmet dinner to a fast food meal.
Ex-Bungie composer Marty O’Donnell wins epic legal fight with former bosses.
Based on this information and how obsessed by quality and fans are Marty and Joseph Staten, We can imagine why Joseph also left Bungie and maybe that the Destiny original story theory is not so a theory but a reality. If Activision messed with the music then for sure they messed with the story. Even Marcus Lehto is gone.
Seriously, this is really disappointing, for the first time since Pathways Into Darkness Im disgusted with Bungie.
Marty, You have proven that You really cared for Us. Your place in history will always be bright and inspiring.
What a shame Bungie, really what a shame...

Funny how there are like 4 topics trending in different sections of the site and no bungie employee has commented on it

Edited by BeanTwenty3: 9/6/2015 4:40:37 PMSold there soul Marty o Donal creates tons of problems and throws tantrums and pisses off both bungie board and activison board while making his employees he's working with feel awkward and they end up really not like working with him Everyone looks over that part and focuses on the money thing, this is nothing new and activison / bungie had no grounds to do this Marty o donnal had a temper tantrum as his "work" wasn't to be released and the PUBLISHER used a different track publishers / editors do this all the time in every field / industry by as its bungie its a no no and Marty o donnal is Jesus Jesus Christ guys

Honestly, they should have never went with Activision. Maybe someone else? Activision alone seems like the reason Destiny and Bungie aren't as good as what they could have been. Martins termination, Bungie's fear, Destinys story, Destiny itself, all the expansion prices, EVERYTHING. Bungie has some game problems for sure, but Activision seemed to be the biggest reason why all of this happened. Also, Martins a legend. He's making his own gaming company right? Or something like that. I hope he continues making absolute legendary game soundtracks.
O’Donnell reacted angrily and believed Activision had overstepped its proper role by assuming artistic control of the trailer music. Ryan, the CEO of Bungie, and management shared his concern and filed a “veto” letter with Activision, which overruled the objection. During E3, O’Donnell tweeted that Activision, not Bungie, had composed the trailer music. He also threatened Bungie employees in an attempt to keep the trailer from being posted online and interrupted press briefings.

Meanwhile, O’Donnell argued that the audio work could not be completed until the game was in a bug-free, playable state. He felt the treatment was unfair but said he would continue to work. Members of the team complained that O’Donnell wasn’t contributing as expected, and his presence was frustrating the completion of the audio work. Ryan proposed to the Bungie board that O’Donnell be terminated.
feel free to say Bungie sold it's soul, but I'd hardly say the man was a hero.

Sounds less like Bungie just gave us the middle finger and more like they were on Marty's side to begin with, but when Activision started putting more pressure on them they simply pulled down their pants and let Activision have their way with them. Marty didn't want to do that and Bungie got scared activision was gonna flip shit or something so they gave Marty the boot. So in conclusion, I do not believe Bungie was being assholes, I believe they were being cowards.
-
Marty is a god and no one will cross him! haha good on him though, got disrespected and just went into work to be a menace lol "Who blocked the toilets again with toilet paper?!!?" "Where are all the staplers?" *marty looks around innocently*

The legal Docs also state that the story was drastically changed in 2013 which was the year it was supposed to launch.
-
Bungie is now in damage control more once again. This will be deej "in light of recent events bungie has decided to give all current players a legendary emblem and shader for your support " that will calm everyone down. Where are the community managers and the ninjas haven't striked against this post???

I don't get any of this. This was over him not getting his earned stocks. This has nothing to do about you or us. This is about him getting what he's due and what they were trying to hold from him. A little sneaky and devious, but again; it has nothing to do with you or me. He was upset that he didn't get his music in the trailers or 100% full control over music / dialog in game. He created disruptions and they fired him. They tried to go back on the contract and hold his shares, but he sued over it and won. That's what happened.
-
Of course they did... unless you were fking blind, you should've seen this coming ~4 months before Destiny release when EXTREMELY disappointing amount of content was rumored in the original game and of course all of it was true.
-
Damn, shits changed. I wanna know what they're gonna do with that phat stack of Marty's soundtrack for the rest of the franchise. Not releasing that in their later games or at least to the public would be a real butt pounding and huge ass waist of talent
-
Confirmed! I still don't care!
-
Make our legendaries obsolete? Give Year 2 Guardians our Year 1 exotics with special "Legacy Engrams" from XUR? Devalue the already dumb moments of triumph by extending the deadline? #dumb

I don't think the Desticle sheeps really cares that much...

I had never played Halo and all I heard was how godly it was so I got extremely excited when I found out Destiny was being made Saw the potential this would be the game I would stay up playing late night with friends, the game I would order the best pre order pack available, and wait midnight for release. This would be the game I craved so much to solely play but than..: All that you mention happen sadly the deal with the devil or better knows as asstivision and all the turmoil that came with it The fall of a mighty gaming empire fell to its knees after playing puppet to asstivision and their orders after all what do they know all they made is COD SHIT , what do they know about a good game? They turned into something they weren't they abandoned what many people loved about them, so shady as to what they did to the original writer and the music guy all their service and loyalty just to be cast away and treated like shit so they had to leave Can't even imagine how great Destiny would be without Activision and with all their original core in tact Wouldn't be here on these forums that's for sure, I'd probably be playing the game, but after all this fallout I'm not motivated more than 1% to play Destiny and its a shame to all the innocent people who created the game and had nothing to do with the drama and to them. I say sorry Which is why we must keep on speaking our minds to get what we want an Activision free world no more money hunger people calling shots, and please bungie go back to your roots Respect and value US. THE GAMERS We want this game to as good as possible and that's why we go to efforts like this one-to wrote this long comment- because of I know 1 thing it's that I WILL NOT take 8-9 more years of this I WONT have it Please Bungie go back to your roots Thank you for reading

10/10 misleading
-
This was obvious the day they announced a partnership with activision.
-
Depressing news. Bungie has changed. The Destiny community needs to see this.
-
Edited by Malacite: 9/5/2015 9:03:33 PMYep. Activision has proven once again that it is a cancer on the industry that needs to be forcibly removed. Sadly there are too many people who will just purchase CoD and all the dlc every year for that to happen (not to mention the fact that they tragically own Blizzard Entertainment). This wouldn't have happened if they'd gone with EA instead. Worst case scenario they may have tried to force Bungie to work in microtransactions on some level, but I'd rather have dealt with that then this - what Activision tried to do was akin to the producer telling the director they're wrong and imposing their own will. Imagine if Universal (or whomever really) went up to Steven Spielberg, told him to his face that he was "wrong" and that they were now going to do the film a different way? That's essentially what happened here with Marty and he was right to lose his blam! over it. Yes it's a business and people are in it to make money, but when you sell out your creative integrity for said profits you don't belong in what is at heart, an artistic endeavor. And that's *all* Bungievision seems to give a damn about now, is profit. Wasn't Staten creative director previously? I know he wrote the story, but I could have sworn Luke Smith took over for him after he left - imagine how different things would be. That old E3 demo had so much promise behind it... This is the game we should have gotten. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIp7vZuYzoA Take note of the classic Halo radar, Dinklebot's much more enthusiastic delivery, and various other improvements that were lost (like simplified upgrade trees for weapons).

So Bungie has becomes Activisions servant right?
-
Ryan pretty much presented Bungie's butt hole for Activision to keep things all good between them. Pretty standard for people just trying to make money not a great product.
