AND THEY GAVE US THE MIDDLE FINGER!!!
The ODonnell vs Bungie legal battle is over and the truth prevail and is visible for all of Us to see and confirm that BUNGIE NO LONGER CARES FOR QUALITY, BUNGIE NO LONGER CARES FOR THEIR FANS, BUNGIE ONLY CARES OF PROFITS.
Marty stood against Activision decision to transform the musical score of Destiny from a gourmet dinner to a fast food meal.
Ex-Bungie composer Marty O’Donnell wins epic legal fight with former bosses.
Based on this information and how obsessed by quality and fans are Marty and Joseph Staten, We can imagine why Joseph also left Bungie and maybe that the Destiny original story theory is not so a theory but a reality. If Activision messed with the music then for sure they messed with the story. Even Marcus Lehto is gone.
Seriously, this is really disappointing, for the first time since Pathways Into Darkness Im disgusted with Bungie.
Marty, You have proven that You really cared for Us. Your place in history will always be bright and inspiring.
What a shame Bungie, really what a shame...
-
Dude shut the -blam!- up so they -blam!-ed over one guy(which I don't support them doing) but if your so morally outraged why not talk about the millions that much bigger corporations have -blam!-ed over
-
Yes, Destiny is a cult that worships the devil. Look at all the occult pagan ritual imagery. Even the tower has horns..
-
Confirmed: No they didnt. You have to have a soul in the first place.
corporations can't have souls
-
If corporations are people than Bungie is a ginger.

He stood against the darkness

Bottom line is Bungie chose money in front of their playerbase, every time I hear a Bungie employee now state they care ... I laugh because I can see the lie straight through their teeth. This game would be have been one of the greatest games of all time if they chose the playerbase in front of money. Bungie + Activision, you are a shameful lot.
-
Bungie chose money over integrity, sold themselves, and pimped out their fans (and not in a good way). The biggest tragedy? No body on this forum cares, the sheep are still throwing money at the screen.
-
Some might say it was his Destiny to win.
-
This is really ugly. I actually read the whole thing and have a completely different view about bungie now. I thought of them as video game people making games for their fans and had to have Activision to have funds to develop destiny. Now it's more like bungie is stepping on anyone to try and get along with Activision and be a big boy company that just cares about money. Tl;Dr. Music composer got shafted because he cares Bungie = trying to be like Activision (greedy)
-
Activision are the true evil ones here. They got bungie on a leash. But now it's just getting worse and turning into a puppet show.
-
I hope that Bungie was really desperate for a publisher when they signed on with Activision. Like, deal with Activision or file bankruptcy and go under desperate. Or how Greece has no choice but to take austerity measures from the EU desperate. And I also hope that they didn't give up their creative freedom without a fight, and that they had literally no choice because the Activision deal tied their hands. And that it was a matter of survival, and not all for the monies.

Edited by SleezyB: 9/5/2015 12:49:50 PMCan't wait for the Joe Staten tell-all in 10 years when he doesn't have to worry about getting sued for giving the people the truth!
-
Hey, Bungie, I really hope trading your collar with Microsoft was worth the collar you got with Activision lol
-
So much of what is wrong with Destiny begins and ends with Activision. As the publishers, they have the final say on just about anything game related, and you can bet even design choices go through that bunch of suits. Of all the companies that could have swallowed Bungie, this is the worst case scenario. Even EA would have been better, and that's saying a lot. I don't think we can underestimate the level of meddling that goes on between developers and the corporate parent company. Resistance is futile; you will be assimilated.

In respects to the shares yeah maybe but Activision is the evil in the games industry, that proves it.....Activision killed destiny before it released. If bungie were left to make the game they intended too then god imagine would it would've been like.......A halo killer? Possibly but no Activision got their claws in and screwed the franchise. The biggest mistake bungie made was Activision.......For me the only way they can fix it is by dumping Activision and we all know that won't happen.
-
Another sell out corrupted by money. I'm starting to feel like the bungie I grew up knowing no longer exist it makes me sad.

In the end, my boss always has the last word on how things should be done, he can choose to do what I suggest, but he doesn't always do. I assume this is the case with Bungie, they should not be judged as Activision decides in the end, no?
-
People flipping shit over this saying we got the middle finger cause the guy who made music got fired for whining to the boss and threw a fit. That changes the story or the RNG somehow?
-
Edited by madmax0707: 9/5/2015 8:23:41 PMSounds like bung likes to throw the shaft at co-founders, if they have no issue doing that to him, they have zero issue doing same to us.

Edited by ZigZag: 9/5/2015 7:51:43 PMWell, the original Destiny music is amazing, probably the best overall achievement of this game. The Dark Below music was not very good, very much thrown together junk, like that entire expansion now that I think about it. I did not however read this and think, "wow he cares about the players", haha, where did you even get that from? He wanted "Music of the Spheres" released, to make money off it due to his shares over the audio. Plus, he knew it would sell because of McCartney's name being on it as well. Bungie should of never saddled up to Activision the way they did, I doubt this would of ever happened. Honestly I dont really care, Bungie is the one tampering and -blam!-ing things up on a regular basis, so a trailer soundtrack for E3 2013 doesn't really matter at all. AT ALL.

How about this for a different viewpoint? Based on all the info we now currently have, the story was incomprehensible, an uncredited graduate student frenetically wrote the grimoire like a month before launch, the music director wouldn't do the music while the game was an unplayable mess and then was forced to do his job with a half assed effort to it, a short story writer being brought in when Staten left to finish up who'd ask questions and get answers like well we haven't figured that out yet, and other things... We wouldn't even have any game called Destiny if it wasn't for Activision. It really sounds like, again with all the info we know from 404A on Reddit to the grimoire cards to Marty O'Donnell now, that Bungie had a great vision for the concept of Destiny but no idea how to bring it all together as a game. Even with all of the above, I still don't think Destiny was ready for launch a year ago by the way and yes things would have been much better if TDB and HoW were both included in the original game with TTK being the first expansion.

This isn't exactly news. Welcome to capitalism.

There are a lot of ninjas on alt. Accounts doing damage control ITT...

I love being able to see details in these things due to court...really shows how much Activision are a bunch of asshats. I liked how bungie at least sided at first, of course they really didn't have too much choice on firing him...though the stock share debacle was a dick move
