CONFIRMED: BUNGIE SOLD ITS SOUL...

AND THEY GAVE US THE MIDDLE FINGER!!! The ODonnell vs Bungie legal battle is over and the truth prevail and is visible for all of Us to see and confirm that BUNGIE NO LONGER CARES FOR QUALITY, BUNGIE NO LONGER CARES FOR THEIR FANS, BUNGIE ONLY CARES OF PROFITS. Marty stood against Activision decision to transform the musical score of Destiny from a gourmet dinner to a fast food meal. Ex-Bungie composer Marty O’Donnell wins epic legal fight with former bosses. Based on this information and how obsessed by quality and fans are Marty and Joseph Staten, We can imagine why Joseph also left Bungie and maybe that the Destiny original story theory is not so a theory but a reality. If Activision messed with the music then for sure they messed with the story. Even Marcus Lehto is gone. Seriously, this is really disappointing, for the first time since Pathways Into Darkness Im disgusted with Bungie. Marty, You have proven that You really cared for Us. Your place in history will always be bright and inspiring. What a shame Bungie, really what a shame...

  • All this time I thought Bungie was a developing company. Turns out, it's a living entity that had a soul in the form of Marty ... and it's gone now.

    • I've been reading the replies. Blame Activision, give Bungie a pass. Most of the developers and soldiers for Bungie? Sure, I can do that. But Bungie as a company? Nope. Activision's proclivities as a company has been known for decades. Bungie (the management) would have known this. They chose to crawl in to bed with that dog, now they have it's flees. Nothing Activision has done is a surprise to any of us, do you seriously think that Bungie as a company was naive enough to think it would be different with them?

      • I agree with everything you stated. I think Bungie's upper management just has too much of an EGO, and needs to be knocked down several pegs. I think they didn't think it would happen to them... and that they were smarter than other companies Activision controls.

Joseph then Jason, Marty now Marcus? Who's next, Luke smith? Bungie will never be the same. Long live the marathon-halo days.

WOW, the first hour I played Destiny, I immediately knew something was wrong and this game was not going to receive great reviews from the major video game publications. The polished and tight game play mechanics of a Bungie FPS and the social / community driven elements of Destiny along with the addictive RNG loot rewards system (gotta get Ice Breaker & The Gjallarhorn mind set) resuscitated this game long enough to get to The Taken king dlc and the completion of year one. If TTK or Destiny in general, continues to show anymore glaring and appalling aspects of "Activision tampering" just like year one Destiny, BUNGIE STUDIOS IS FINISHED. Hopefully Activision has noticed the negative results of their interference in year one and allowed Bungie more creative control and autonomy with TTK along with the future Destiny sequels. I have always been a consumer and if GameInformer, GameSpot and IGN give another <9.0 game rating and the new dlc weapons do not meet the standards of my forgotten year one arsenal, I will undoubtedly and officially retire from my Guardian post and resume my full time Spartan Profession.......
for Bungie's sake, I hope thousands if not millions will not follow....
I wouldn't say Marty cared for us but it was more about his creative freedom that he cared about. If he had won, we would have been the victors.

I don't know how you treat the guy who made the music for Halo that way. One of the founders of Bungie, creator of one of the most iconic video game scores of all time, in one of the most popular video game franchises of all time, and that's how they treat him? Embarrassing. How do we get Microsoft to buy Bungie from Activision?

                • The music and story were cut to dumb the game down for the masses. The writer and musician got pissed and resisted the change. Staton left on his own and is probably screwed because he resigned and willfully signed away any rights he had with the company probably for a crappy comp package. Odonnell on the other had stuck it out when he was being forced out so he had some legal rights he could exercise. Congratts to him for fighting back.

                • Already made a post in another topic, so I'm just copypasta
All this answers, is that Activision put a Bunch of pressure on Bungie to release a guy who was ACTUALLY behaving like a child. Activision likely threatened to be able to take over the Destiny Franchise because of possible breaches in their contract. Marty starts acting more and more irrational to the point he is let go. ALL FAIR and SQUARE up to this point by Bungie. Not so much by Marty. However, taking away his accrued vacation pay and shares was a somewhat silly move by Bungie. They should have known better. All in all though... this has little to no 'answers' as to what happened during Destiny's development. It simply shows one childish, greedy man's time during the ordeal.
• I take it you are taking the format of the tea party by the fact that their emails reflect a very similar format and word type. Power words don't work on those who have seen it before kiddo. Bungie is an entire company composed of hundreds of people and the more you get on the 1 on 1 level with that? The faster you'll stop looking like an internet jackass. When termination clauses pop up? There's typically 1-5 people involved. 1 HR Rep, 1 oversight manager, 1 cleric typist who doesn't retain the information because all they do is type it up, 1 actual manager in charge of terminating the employee, and 1 witness (normally a boss to any of the following). That's about it. To say that this is evidence based on your understanding of the problems of Destiny and your clearly high hatred of the situation is only working against you kiddo. Go do your homework and relax.

                          • new bungie... commonly called acti-bungie. activision is to blame. Bungie needed a source of money and signed a contract. very simple, though what we see now is an issue. we must ask bungie why has it gone this far and ask activision to back off and let a gaming company to what they do best.
