Just the fact that someone is going over these comments and downvoting the ones that put some criticism toward O'donnell or doesn't conform 100% with your conspiracy theory, proves that this community has people in it that are more grunts on the teat than anything else.
Things have nuances, and Bungie is a company. A company that is supposed to make money. They wanted to make a huge game. Hinted at already in ODST. They signed with Activision to get funded. This game cost a lot of money to make. I bet most of you don't even realise just how much goddamn work making a huge game like Destiny is.
I'm sure Activision has imposed some limitation to rush the game, and pissed off some old timers at bungie that later bailed, but come on. You're all acting like Bungie went from being a caring single dad that always was there to listen, to him being an angry old granddad that only feed you scraps off the dinner table. Bungie still cares. Listen to Lukems and Deej. I see no other devs out there that have such an outward face to their fanbase. Things were never black or white with Bungie.

Much salt, little logic with this one. Feel the sharp butthurt that the truth has caused you.
-
Wait so i am confused on one thing. How is this still a conspiracy theory? Its come out in court what activision has done not only to Marty but also to the destiny game in the last year and you think people are crazy and none of it is true? People were crazy for saying there were changes made and some internal bungie shit going down before this because they had no evidence. But now they are equally crazy once actual documentation from a court order comes out and proves what they have been saying for the past 2 years. Hell i didnt believe everything they said about all of this especially Marty losing his shares but now it can be disputed that they did/tried to get away with this stuff.
-
There is not logic with fanboys saying it's a "conspiracy theory" is a stupid cop out buzzword nonsense because they little brains can't figure out agenda's bigger then their tiny minds.
-
I agree
-
Saw all the negativity your getting. Just want to let you know there are still people who agree with you and look for the big picture instead of riding the popular thought wave.
-
Really? the big picture? the picture is content was cut and sold as dlc, also popular thought ? the most popular thought on this forum full of mindless fan boys is Bungie did nothing wrong and everyone is crazy for saying anything bad like they cut content even though all the evidence and court issue proves it, did you guys like not see the trailer and then play day 1 destiny ?
-
Activision probably put pressure on Bungie to produce 2 DLC out of their arses, prompting them to hack the game to bits and glue it back together, hence the nonsensical story you see today.
-
Well hello there damage control. Nice to see you. The truth is that bungie had ALOT of options to make destiny that didn't involve getting into bed with activision. Not only getting into bed with them, but turning up their rump and begging for it. You don't blame the devil for being the devil, it's what he does. You blame the dumb sonofabitch that sells their soul to him.
-
Uh. You don't know what options Bungie had. They weren't going to go with Microsoft, because Microsoft took Halo from them and they didn't want to make that game anymore, anyway. At least with Activision, according to their contract, Bungie will ALWAYS own every asset related to Destiny. Do you people even know how game development works? No funds, no game. Signing a contract meant funding, and they wanted to make their game. Who else were they going to partner with? EA? THQ? Which doesn't even exist anymore? There aren't a lot of options, when you're a developer that has limited funds and no publisher. People on this forum need to develop their common sense.
-
They are bungie. They could have gone to kickstarted and pretty much printed money. Would it have been 500 million? No, but it would have been no strings attached.
-
Kickstarter? You realize that's for indie projects, and lots of smaller things, right? Right?
-
You haven't been paying close attention. Some really big ticket names have showed up on kickstarter and came out with millions. I mean, everyone knows that kickstarter is now a great way of funding a project despite scale, without having to deal with publishers, right? Right?
-
I agree with most of what your saying, except Digital Extremes is infinitely better in the fan communication department.
-
As a guy who's put in 1,500 hours in warframe I agree and yet they have more options then a developer like bungie. Remember one was funded over time the other has a 10 year 500 million dollar contract to work with with dlc. Warframe doesn't have dlc
-
Warframe is also a mess, and it has lots of cash shop bullshit. Also, the crafting and grind are both -blam!-ing awful and I refuse to play a game like that. Ever.

Edited by Frickin Rock: 9/5/2015 4:27:21 PMI completely understand F2P is not for everyone but if you haven't looked at it in a few months I highly suggest you do you may like the additions they made but yes I still think the destiny game is a bit better
-
Bungie boy
-
3 level 34s lol hey pot I keep hearing you call the kettle black
-
Is that supposed to be insulting? I play their games. I try to see a bigger picture.
-
The bigger picture is bungie's new boss cut the content and story in order to sell as dlc for bigger profits which is why the game came out with no story and lacked content compared to the trailer.
-
You don't know what happened. lol none of you do. It's all conjecture. You jump on that answer because it's a widely believed BELIEF. We don't know exactly what happened during development. There's also the fact they fired Marty because he was acting like a pompous douchebag. You work for ANY company and act like that, and you bet your ass you're gonna get the boot. It's common sense, and it's how a workplace functions.

While true Grifballin bro, the company cant breech contract to steal your entire stake of ownership in the business. Both sides were in the wrong, but Bungie was the one who went into a complete fustercluck in their response to what amounted to being a douchebag.
-
An outward, dishonest face. This dude throws his money at the screen.
-
Edited by Issah: 9/5/2015 1:09:21 PMI would like to hear what Bungie has done that is so dishonest that makes them such a big bad wolf. Just because conflict happens, and things they say don't necessarily turn out to be 100% how their product came out, it doesn't mean they're dishonest. The nature of game development is like that. things can change in less than a week. Designs thrown out, new ideas put forth. Bungie is a company, they need to make money to justify making a game this large. Yes, Activision overstepped their bounds, but Bungie has in no way sold their soul. They are still a lot better at communicating with their community than a lot of other studios.
