Ask yourself, what are dads who play Destiny the best at? Is it raiding, iron banner, prison of elders or trials of Osiris? Turns out it is none of the above. What they do best has nothing to do with gaming at all. I joined Dads of Destiny a few months ago due to an article that was posted about an extraordinary group of fathers who helped about another group member who was in between jobs and expecting a child. Dads of Destiny Raiders have continued the legacy of looking out for people first and gaming second when an admin for the group (xCCx COFFIN) found himself in a tough spot. It was a sad day for all of us to hear that one of our members was on the verge of losing his home. Needless to say the dads began to do what they do best. Within 24 hours a fundraising page was created and after another 24 hours of being live they had raised almost $2,000.00. I think @coffin said it best in his post to the form wall:
"This truly is a family and I cry with tears of joy and happiness every time one of you reaches out to me! I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who has offered me and my family support! You guys are truly amazing!!"
It has been a refreshing and rewarding experience to be part of a parental gaming community who welcome all players and really know how to keep things in perspective. Special credit goes to JAGRBOMBS for leading the charge to assist xCCx COFFIN and all the great dads of destiny who continue to make the community and gaming experience world class.
