So I wanted to create a thread that sheds light on the topic of internalizing "regrets." Not necessarily wishing you'd turn back the hands of time but looking at things for the best in the past and moving forward.
So tell us offtopic
If you knew then, what you know now what would have been different back then? Would the situations and the challenges you've faced been played out different with the present experiences you've encountered?
I can get pretty deep with words sometimes but answer as best as you can. :)

The only one I could think of for myself is having had been more patient with my parents with them learning English, since it was their 2nd language. My parents worked so very hard to get me and my siblings out here to the states to learn, progress (compared to what we came from it was a regress in education), and to fulfill our dreams. All the times I was embarrassed of my parents they had hopes that I would succeed in my life and one day be smarter than them. I own my own business now and have a beautiful family thanks to there support and hard work to raise me to be the best I can be. I just wish I wasn't such a little ass to them when I was young. Though now a days I've been really close to my parents now than I've ever been.

I'd not eat cheap sea food

I wouldn't change a thing. There are mistakes in life that need to be made. In hindsight yeah I made some bad choices, but at the time those choices got me exactly what I wanted.

If I was a baby that knew everything i knew now I'd still be a dumb baby

"The man who insists upon seeing with perfect clearness before he decides, never decides. Accept life, and you must accept regret."

Life isn't what we plan. Life is just what happens inbetween those plans. So, please, learn to accept your mistakes and get over your regrets.

Edited by MrsPlatinumOG : 10/5/2015 9:51:50 PMOkay this is a recent one. An amnesty law passed in California stating any traffic tickets you have prior 2011 will get fallen off or deducted down to 80%. What do I do, pay off an expensive ass speeding ticket 2 days before the amnesty law went through. If only I waited 2 more freaking days! Ahhh If i knew then what I know now!

I like your story, it is cool how your family came to America and worked to learn English and you went and had a successful business and a great family, and a great relationship with your parents. Your pretty awesome!

I would do everything the same because there is no good without having evil
derp the herp!

had to throw that in there.....lol
I would've realized I had feelings for someone and asked her out sooner instead of losing her without even telling her how I felt. If I failed with that then I'd also know almost ten years down the road not to get my heart broken by a misleading/lying lesbian.
-
I'll let you know in a few months, when this situation plays out.

I would be with the girl I'm in love with. Id finally be with the girl who's everything I look for. If only I just said something. I regret it every single day of my life.

I regret nothing.

I regret Not staying in high school when my depression got unbearable, i had to quit high school senior year,5 months before graduation because i could barely function. If only i had hanged in there a little more i would have received my diploma on time instead of receiving it 2 years later.

I wish I wouldn't have been so stupid at about six points during my life.

Shoulda accepted a bj from that one bitch last year Apparently she gives the best head

Was expecting at least one Katy petty reference

I wouldn't do heroin to cope with the death of the first woman I ever loved
-
I would try to save a friend who committed suicide in grade 8 on the 21st of this month. For me I would try to accept who I was at a younger age then to deny it to avoid being bullied even more and to do the same as the girl above.

My biggest regret is trusting anybody brings so much pain when they stab you in the back .
-
I could go on and on and on, but the thought I always return to is that I wouldn't be as smart as I am today. I value the wisdom of mistakes I've made and press on. Regret is a fickle thing. Best not to regret things long done. One minute it can seem like a small bag over your shoulder, and the next minute as if you were dragging a battleship across dry land.

Never use Sharpie on your LEGO'S. That shit sells for a good amount. 😂

Don't believe everything you hear. Form your own opinions instead of adopting other's because they told you to.
-
I don't regret anything. I love the way my life had turned out.

If I knew then what I knew now, I would have never touched a Playstation 2.
