Suddenly, the soldier from earlier staggers out of a nearby alleyway. His eyes are unfocused, dust covers his uniform and blood covers his hands. He seems to be talking to the air around him: Jalonsky, Roberts, Devlin, all gone. T-90s blew them apart. All gone, all gone.
-
Hey, it's you again. You okay?
-
The soldier looks up. Berlin, Ramstien. Orleans, Dunkirk. How many? Too many. Always to many. Over the top, men. Over the top! His eyes become even more unfocused, and his words devolve into broken laughter.
-
*Chelovek slaps him, causing him to fall to the ground* Snap out of it, soldier!
-
The man looks up, confused. What happened? He gently feels out his bloody nose. Ouch. Where am I?
-
You went crazy like I did back in that alley.
-
Oh, God. But I was at the Reichstag, the Fountain, the last ride out! I saw them, all of them, alive, smiling, talking, breathing. Alive. So what really happened?
-
You got chased by police to a fountain where you held out for a few hours and then you ran through here into me.
-
The soldier stares at the pavement. Oh, my God. Police, huh. I'm guessing they didn't have a chance.
-
No. You shot like hell.
-
The soldier stands, shakily. This doesn't make sense. I never had anything like this happen before.

Edited by Master Chief: 9/6/2015 9:43:11 PMWait, how did you get on this planet?
-
Edited by Ex PI: 9/6/2015 9:47:12 PMI dunno. I was pulling hit-and-run duty outside Shanghai. Some kind of tech lab. Got to the reactor, opened the door, saw a bright light, then I was here.
-
Some type of wormhole maybe?
-
It's possible. Since it seems I'm stuck here, I suppose I should introduce myself. He sticks out a hand. Lieutenant Rainer Thomsen. 38th Anti-Armor Division.
-
Edited by Master Chief: 9/6/2015 10:02:43 PM*Chelovek extends his hand too* You can just call me "Chelovek." 1st Mechanized Troop division, 1st squad. "The Fist of the Motherland"

Rainer shakes. Interesting. I'll guess your lot was in Berlin too.
-
Yeah. We were the first ones in and the last ones out. We swept that city like a wave. They never knew what was coming.
-
Rainer smiles in remembrance. We put holes all up and down the other stuff. Could never catch you all.
-
Edited by Master Chief: 9/6/2015 10:30:58 PMNumbers work well. We got quite a few of you guys too. It was a tough fight, but we came out on top by the time the next night rolled around.
-
I'm fully aware. How bout a round on me?
-
Edited by Master Chief: 9/6/2015 10:41:23 PMNo thanks. I don't drink. Maybe if Denikin were here. That man could down an entire keg in one sitting.
-
Rainer laughs. Sounds like a Scotsman I used to know. You know anywhere around here I could live in?
-
No. I've got a base up north of here but I'm afraid I can't allow any foreigners in.
-
Rainer smiles. I understand. OPSEC and all that.
