Yeah man, I'm so pissed about it. I got a solar dregs pride that is ok. Both Fatebringer and Word of Crota out class it in basically every way if it makes you feel any better.
It's like they are afraid we wouldn't play the game if had the oldies. Wouldn't it be cool to have enough guns to leave on different characters?
Instead, bungie would rather make us keep going back to the tower to load up the same 2 guns that are gonna be decent in TTK, every time we switch characters. -blam!- variety.
Who wants to have a fatebringer on one character and a fang on the other? Lots of us... For people with 3 characters, It makes the next 2 redo's less repetitive.
As far as the old raids getting a new difficulty level, I agree. It could be easily done.
Even players who have all the weapons would be doing all 3 raids if the did something as simple as added a variety of burns on the weapons like HOW. I would be doing VOG and Crota all the time to get different versions of all my favorites.
We will complete the new content in a week, 2 weeks tops. The rest is just replaying. Why does it matter what content we are replaying? Why does it matter what guns in using? Destiny gets their money and our playtime.
