The linked Article is from Xbox Magazine, and tells why Martin O'Donnell (what of the greatest Video Game Composers in my Opinion) Was fired.
Now, was he fired for good reason?
Yes, he was essentially Sacking the Game in terms of PR. I understand why he is upset, but i thought he could honestly be more of an adult about it, and taken the fight to Activision, not to ruining the game.
Did Bungie do it wrong though?
Very much Yes. They tried to fire him without pay and strip him of his stock options. I mean the dude has been with the Company pretty much since their start to fame. If you don't treat your most long term employees right, even when firing them, how the hell do you treat the rest of your Employees. Maybe that's why Deej looks angry all the time.
However the most important thing that this does highlight, is that Activision is bunch of Idiotic -blam!-s who need to simply publish the game and keep their nose out of Game Development. If Activision hadn't have stuck their nose in the first place, everything might have gone great. And because of Activision's involvement, The story had to be re-written for many purposes, including them pissing off one of the lead writers who left to TellTale Games ( we all remember that angry tweet)
And here is the shitty thing, Yes Destiny has had some growing pains, It's Bungie's first "MMO" (debatable, i know!) , they're learning how to develop it as they go and TTK is a good sign of them learning from their mistakes, But how much less painful would these growing pains be with an in depth story that made sense? With a wealth of Lore for us to dwell on. A lot better.
