Hopscotch pilg---rwhat the -blam!-?

They completely changed the weapon. Why didn't they just say, "Haha! We hate our players! And -blam!- any weapon they like!"? I'm really disappointed, but to be honest, I predicted this(though, not so extreme). It's what I expect from this game and its developers, and why I am smart enough not to buy any more of it. I hope you all enjoyed it while it lasted, it was a remarkable weapon. Edit: It's very likely Bungie planned this from the beginning; so many people grinded for so long not only to get HP, but then the 100+ motes to get the perfect roll. That was a substantial hook, and boost to their numbers. They don't respect your time or effort in their game. Really, they are playing you more than you are their game. Edit2: I agree that it needed a reduction in stability. What this proves, though, is that Bungie has NO respect for your time or effort in a game designed to rely heavily on both of those things. And, that they aren't above, not thinking very highly of you, playing their patrons for fools.

  • Just something to consider: A lot of guys are calling the HP a "crutch" & OP. It might be worth re-thinking that a bit. The gun was VERY good. But after what we saw from the exotic hand cannons this past year, the standard for "OP" was set and the Hopscotch doesn't fit. Not is it fair to say it was a crutch. It wasn't a crutch when it actually was one of the only legendary weapons available that had the potential to prevent being routinely ass--blam!- by "the notorious two". But unlike TLW, Hopscotch wasn't a safe bet against a shotgun inside 45'. It had NO reliability in terms of cross-mapping a kill-regardless of perk-set. It bugs me (butt hurt) to feel like people think I used it as a "crutch" when I (all of us) have been working toward ANY possible way to hold our own against shotgun snipers, revolvers that served as an 8-round LMG, and the satan's spawn known as Thorn. In light of the imbalance we've all had to deal with, a guy choosing to hold his ground with the Hopscotch was a hell of a lot more sporting than the 5 million other people who just said, "fück it, I'll just use use Thorn, too". Was it "OP"? After seeing some of the monsters Bungie has managed to create, I don't think so. Yes, there's an argument for paring it back a bit in light of all the changes. But it was never a scrub's gun. Anyone bagging on the Hopscotch should be doing the same damn thing over the Messenger; which was notably left alone. HP was to pulse rifles what LDR was/is to snipers: too damn good to ignore. And no one wasted any time hollering about the LDR. I just think we'd all be better off if stopped moving the goal posts around as to what an "OP" crutch gun actually is. Had they left the Pilgrim alone, we'd have a fistful of solid pulses to pick from; all with their own merits. As of now though, Messenger/Red Death are the new Meta and the thing we'll all be pissed off about in a week. I'm not salty over the nerf; I'll figure out whatever. But that gun doesn't have any business being lumped in with the true scumbag weapons of the past year. Just my thought.
