No Hilary, NO.
How many steel beams must we lose before we learn our lesson?
Let Europe handle it.
Visit Europe before it's too late

I agree that any solution which doesn't address the root cause of migration (civil wars in Syria and Iraq) will only extend the problem. However, I think the refugee issue is being conflated with the larger issue of immigration and integration of immigrants. The two are separate. Refugees are a short-term, humanitarian issue, and in raw numbers (thousands, even tens of thousands) actually make up a tiny percentage of global migration. Immigration is a social and economic issue dealing with long term trends and tens of millions of people. You cannot base your immigration policy on accepting or turning away refugees. Different policies are required.

If they sort out syria, then these ppl wouldn't need to migrate to countries, that don't want them.
-
Why would America take them in? They caused this by helping create ISIS, arming training and outfitting them, then letting them run wild in the East. No one wants their help, let Europe clean up the mess.

Edited by DB5: 9/9/2015 11:20:45 PMWell, if the US is willing to pay hundreds of millions -- billions when you include the TOWs/unannounced lethal aid -- to assist in destroying Syria, it should be willing to help alleviate some of the damage. Particularly given that a wonderful friend of mine is a refugee from Hama, I'm inclined to support US lending real assistance in addition to the lethal aid we provide rebel factions fighting Mr. Assad.

Look what they are doing to sweden for God's sake. That place will be a third world country by 2020 according to the UN

Edited by Tartan 118: 9/9/2015 9:38:37 PMAmerica and Canada are bigger than all of Europe. Stop being a little bitch. Well, I imagine they're bigger. In any case, there's definitely more free space over there.

I bet you're the type of person to oppose Bill Clinton letting Bosnian refugees into the US out of the fear Serbians would infiltrate

Sounds like a EU problem, NOT a US problem. We aren't the world police and we aren't the world daycare... The world wanted us to stop sticking our nose into things, there you go. Besides, what are those pussies in Europe upset about? its just a constant flow of people their infrastructure and economy aren't built to handle.

ITT: OP equates migrants fleeing a war-torn country to terrorists
