Personally, I felt like the dark below was a blunder, that the house of wolves fixed a bunch of things and made old gear fun again and added a much needed layer of customization - so far the 2.0 update seems like a backwards step, but it may need more time to develop. Thoughts?
I was unable to figure out how to add the option for "vanilla" to this poll, so I have created a related topic (see below poll entitled "Destiny's Prime Era UPDATED") at https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/153036886/0/0

Started a new topic: Destiny's Prime Era UPDATED - the most enjoyable era to play in
-
Why is there no poll for "not playing at all"? Because that's the best way to play destiny, throwing it in the trash
-
I'd say it's a little early to include TTK in there already.
-
Vanilla? Vanilla? VANILLA?
OP likes chocolate
-
Where's the option for vanilla? The drop rates sucked, the best place to get loot was the loot cave, and there was an extreme lack of things to do And it was still the best Destiny has ever been.
-
The first month and a half were my favorite, everything was new and I hadn't done everything 1 million times.
-
Need an option for when the game first released, that was when everyone chomped at the bit to play the game. Seems like a lifetime ago.
-
Where is the option "before DLCs"?
-
I'm a day 1 player and vanilla destiny was actually the most fun/enjoyable. After that, things started to go down hill and I hoped it bottomed out in HoW. HoW was so bad IMO that I didn't pre-order TTK. I'm waiting at least a few weeks after release of TTK to see if its worth the money. If not, I'll shell out my money for another game.

I've played since launch, but if I were to look at this from the point of a new comer? 2.0 is definitely the best time. The stories set out as separate quests actually does MORE for the story and trying to have them run together in on long mismatched continuity. Mixing the small side story missions with the relevant DLC story is also a nice touch. You don't have a preconceived notion of how the ghost SHOULD sound so you enjoy the new Nolandroid more (I like it). You have access to a lot more content to play from the get go and if you started at a previous time. And the new fixes in 2.0 (shader and emblem sharing and weapon balance) are a real nice touch.
-
how can you put ttk on here...not out yet ???
-
You're missing an option there. It was best when VoG was new, most things weren't nerfed and the grind hadn't really started yet.
-
The reason I voted 2.0/TTK is because they aren't separated which I'm sure Bungie/Activision wanted us to do. Believe that "fixes" somehow have to do with paid DLC. If it was separated is put 2.0 only because of the vault fix, kiosks, quest ui and shading exotics. All of which I guess don't matter now that I'm locked out of the game unless I pay.
