The Red Death was created as a cheaper alternative for the Suros Regime. However, its use of synthetic smartmatter caused the wielder of the prototype to go insane, butchering many a Guardian. The Suros Regime does not have these problems because it uses genuine smartmatter, which is much better than the synthetic stuff, despite being rarer and kore expensive
