I Want Objective Based Game Modes.
Plain and simple, there will only be 1 objective based game mode, and that is the new Control. If you can win without playing the objective, it is nothing more than a glorified TDM or deathmatch. I mean, I'm happy the new Control will actually play for the goddamned objective, but that's the ONLY non-deathmatch mode we get?? Piss off.
Rift? TDM with a slight distraction when charge is ready.
Control? TDM with more encouraged camping
Clash? TDM
Skirmish? 3v3 TDM
Salvage? 3v3 TDM with slight distractions
Rumble? Deathmatch
Elimination? 3v3 Counterstrike without the bombs (Aka, TDM)
COME ON! I play to the objectives. I don't give two squirts of shit about K/D. Yet, that's the most important aspect of Crucible. I love PvP gaming, especially in FPS games, but TDM is the lowest of the low when it comes to just about any gametype!

Salvage is a objective game mode idiot. Capture the probe, and maintain it. Is that not an objective?

After Invasion, ctf, and Assault in Halo I expected better objective-based game types in Destiny. However if they were to add those kinds of gametypes, I think they would have to create more maps that are big enough for the kind of gameplay your looking for. Until then, your just gonna have to go play some Reach or Halo 4. But yeah I get what you mean it would be nice to have some objectives besides Control. Control does get boring after awhile.

There are new game modes coming in TTK, so idk but maybe there'll be more than just Zone control for you

1 ReplyEvidently there's an additional mode not yet announced called Arsenal. From the sounds of it, it'll be an objective based mode.

1 ReplyThe only mode that's really missing is 2 flag capture the flag. But objective games tend to Not do as well on tiny maps with motion detectors. Now if they put in bigger maps of flipped motion off then things could be pretty interesting.
