Someone in government is pushing to switch over right now but if I remember correctly they did this in the 80s and it was a complete failure

They tried back then but the big companies gmc and ford didn't want to spend the money to convert so the country didn't convert And this was allowed because gmc and ford paid for a lot of government officials campaigns so they kinda had to listen
