The government can't tax weed to many people can grow their own tax free that's why they haven't legalized it in a lot of states

They can tax it and do. They are holding out because pharmaceutical companies and the like are paying them not to. They would take a huge hit in profit if people knew all the benefits from pot in its many forms.
