Let me clear up the grimoire=dead ghosts claim.
Ghost account for about 5 grimoire each. Some Ghosts count for 10 or 15 though.
There are 77 dead ghosts.
77x5=385. Let's just round that up to approximately 550. Fair enough?
Only 550 score out of a possible 3620 (xb) or 3665 (ps) can be given to you by finding dead ghosts. While that is a substantial gain, it is not the key factor for a high grimoire.
You say Grimoire doesn't show skill? Let me brake it down.
Where did the other 3,000 points come from? It shows you have played a variety of PvE and PvP content, and that you have done them multiple times. It shows commitment to the game. Whether that is a good or bad thing is up for debate.
Now, grimoire means, for the most part, experience. You do not need a high grimoire score to be good. You can have a natural talent at the game.
But:
talent+experience=skill
When talent is refined with experience, that makes a player skilled.
Being able to analyze the situation and go where you are needed without anyone having to tell you to.
That is why grimoire, to me, means skill.
Usually anyway. I will play with anyone, it doesn't matter to me. But, I will prefer people who have a higher score. I feel I can trust them to know what is going on.

There are 86 dead ghosts and it's approximately 620 grimoire score
-
The way I see it is under 3000=n00b over 3000=experienced
-
The way I see it, Grimoire is just a number that shows dedication to playing/doing all the content available
-
I agree about more time played the better, but grimoire score shouldn't be used to descriminate new players or less dedicated ones.
-
Raid completions don't mean shit either like yea I've completed Crota only 3 times thats because I got the crux and fang and that's all I wanted same with vog lmao

If we were playing prison of elders and i main an auto rifle for example, with a grimiore it would mean im 'less skilled'. This isn't necessarily true. Say im a pro with my auto rifle, no one can beat me, but I'm horrible at snipers. Doesn't make me less skilled it means I've dedicated my time towards polishing my own style and being the best player. Sure you have a point with certain game types but the 'dead ghosts' should be added with the use of guns as well because not everyone can use every other gun type with ease.

Edited by Coyote_x_Starrk: 9/13/2015 4:37:22 AMGrimoire has nothing to do with SKILL. It just means you have spent a tremendous amount of TIME playing the game.

*break

Because you do a ton more of unnecessary grinding, that does not make you better than anybody
-
You get no in-game reward for Grimoire so there for me it makes it irrelevant and something I wouldnt waste my limited game time trying to achieve or gain.
-
Truth! PS: how did you get 3795 on xone? Is that because of the ps4 exclusives being available to you now? Im at 3805, the max for ps right now. You think we'll get ahead of you guys again with the new exclusives?
-
Grimoire means absolutely nothing. The people on my raid team with the 3500 grimoire are always the ones I'm reviving
-
Apart from a few things most of it takes no skill. It's simply grinding kills and collecting ghosts.
-
Lol at those tags. But agree 100%
-
Grimiore is knowledge! Not skill I prefer grimore when comes to raid or any pve. Pvp is more on skill.. Raid doesnt required much skill.. Only using your intelligent.
-
I only play with 3200+ players cause I know they can deliver! ~About Me
-
Grimoire only represents playtime to me. Doesn't mean you are good.
-
Grimoire equals loyalty
-
The only grimoire that requires any skill is rumble. Everything else can come with playing the game.
-
Yes, if you do 1000 strikes, you will get a lot of grimoire.
-
Oh my -blam!-ing God, who cares?
-
the fact that i was called a "low grimoire nub has gally" for a 2800-2900 grimoire pre following a lame boring youtube vid on lame ghosts, (EVEN THOUGH I HAD 2X HIS IN GAME HOURS, 3X CRUCIBLE KILLS) this fact shyts on this worthless thread grimoire is ghosts/aka lame youtube vid

Edited by Mazzimonster: 9/13/2015 12:59:14 PMGrimore is not just ghosts It's being a complete and utter no life and spending ur legit life on the tv playing destiny because no matter how good u are u will have to at least play over a month of game time But hey if I didn't care about my life I would do the same

Grimoire to me means experience. You can play a lot to have a high grimoire score and still suck just like you can have a low grimoire score and be good.
