I smoked for 4 years and never had a relapse of any sort. Easiest thing to quit because there is nothing addictive about it.

I stopped drinking alcohol one day, no side effects, but the huge number of alcoholics can say otherwise. Every person deals with different chemicals differently. And withdrawal is different for each person.

Alcoholism is a disease. There are no reported findings of addictive behavior in marijuana. It's all habitual, as arbitrary as biting your fingernails. I commend you for giving up the bottle though, my dad has been battling alcoholism for 30 years. He's 8 years sober so far.

As with any chemical foreign to your body, such as the main chemical that produces the "High" is a toxin in your body. As with any toxin it would need heavy FDA guidelines and restrictions. As such I am not familiar with all studies done, but what are the long term effects? What can it do to a woman who is pregnant, second hand smoke? Way too many to say its harmless.
