Back in 2002 I played a game called Legends of Temuair. It was in beta, hosted by Nexon. It was incredibly in-depth at its time, allowing players to become Guards (police) and then they can get votes from the players to become Judges, who will then determine who can or cannot go jail with the proper trial. There were all kinds of classes, typical MMO stuff. There were different gods/goddess you could worship and by doing so you could attend mass and gain a ton of XP and level up. Met my first online friend there, Eleana. Cool Priestess, and her sister Elemap who was also a Priestess. I was a Wizard. After it ended around 2004-5, I joined Ragnarok Online for about 10 years or so, before leaving that. Met most of my friends now through Ragnarok.
