Twas the night before Taken…
And on his great throne,
Oryx waited in earnest
For his son to come home…
The escort returned,
to the king’s flying dreadnaught.
His admirals walked in,
but his son Crota did not!
They rested Crota’s sword,
on the floor as they kneeled.
At last one replied, “My King…
…Your son’s legend…has been sealed…”
“…In his own private realm,
we found your son slayed…”
“…Pierced straight through the heart,
by his very own blade!”
“Crota……my son……”
The King moans in dismay,
“I don’t know who did this…
…But I WILL MAKE THEM ALL PAY!!!!"
His roar shakes the candles!
And rattles the walls!
His admirals jump back,
less like men than like thralls!
Snatching up his son’s sword,
in his darkest of hours…
He walks up to his portal,
and summons all of his powers…
With a strike of his sword,
Oryx reaches out to the Dark…
Space crackles. It answers,
in a brilliant white spark!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Strike now!” cries the Queen,
As her fleet whizzes past!
Not a second to lose,
as any moment could be their last!
“There’s too many of them!”
her brother soon shouts!
His ship takes a hit,
as the Dreadnaught lashes out.
“Do whatever you must,
to silence their screams!”
The Queen barks in return,
as her harbingers tear space by the seams!
The stars cry out thunder!
The void screams in pain!
As the Queen’s distortion cannons
let fly their rain!
The vacuum roars like the sea!
Nothingness itself brings destruction!
As a Guardian flies past,
reaching out for instructions.
“The Queen hails you!”
was Petra’s tense reply.
“Just… (-Boom!-) Oh screw the formalities!
Get down there before we all die!”
With a glare of the eyes,
and a snarl of the nose,
the Guardian pounds the throttle,
and down to the Dreadnaught he goes!
On Starboard! On Portside!
The Guardian is hit!
“The Light in the Abyss” goes down,
on the Dreadnaught’s pavement!
Two more guardians land,
Their fireteam now complete.
They look up to the sky,
At the incoming Cabal fleet!
Engines full throttle!
Noses pointed straight down!
The guardians fall with the thunder
As dropships slam the ground!
“What extreme Cabal tactics!”
Nolandroid chirps with a chuckle.
The Hunter draws a knife.
The Titan cracks a knuckle.
The Cabal emerge from the wreck,
as more guardians land.
Guns held at the ready,
for a long moment, together… they stand.
The Titan walks forward,
The Cabal chief follows in kind…
…and with a slow nod, salute, and fist clutch,
they charge onward together, armies joining behind.
Together they rain hell,
on the desk of that ship!
Novabombs flying!
Cabal firing from the hip!
But the Hive strike back!
And the Cabal soon lay
…resting in pieces…
at the hands of Dark Blade!
It lasted for hours,
this shedding of blood,
until they reached the tunnels,
and leapt down with a thud!
Through these tunnels they stalked,
smashing hundreds of Thrall.
Until at last they arrived,
at the King’s royal hall.
The gates swing wide with a creak,
as the Giant looms up from his throne…
The guardians begin to feel meek,
but know they must defend their home…
They take aim for the King!
And let rockets fly!
But the wolfpacks bounce off!
…and Gjallarhorn cries! :C
And so they realize this battle,
will not so easily be won…
But the guardians are ready.
…After all… they survived Year 1…
Hope you enjoyed, see you all in Year 2 :D
