I love Destiny. I've been playing since Day One and I own both expansions. It's the game that I put the most time into this year, and I can easily consider myself a hardcore Destiny player, even thought I might not be as good at the game as some of my fellow players. I was ecstatic when info on The Taken King leaked early, and was downright giddy during the reveal at Sony's press conference. I couldn't wait to find out more, so I checked your website to absorb what I could. That's where I read about all the different versions of the Taken King, and I just can't help but feel hurt while reading through it.
We have to pay $40 for the expansion? Oookay. Well, I'm hoping that I can trust you guys to make it worth the money. But then I read that for $80, a new player gets everything, including exclusive exotic class items, shaders, and emotes. I'm sorry, but how is that fair? I've already dropped $95 into this game, and if I want to get the expansion, I have to pay another $40 and I'm still not getting all the content?
The way this is set up, the people who have to pay the most for the new expansion are the people who have already paid the most for the game. Why am I paying an extra $55 for this game if I'm not even going to get all the content? You make it seem like I'll be better off skipping Destiny 2 for a year because not only would I be saving a huge amount of cash, but I'd also be getting extra stuff to "reward" my patience. I mean, you've never even released extra dances before, let alone exotic class items. Why don't we, your most dedicated players, get them with our purchase that inherently costs more?
Yes, I did read about the VIP rewards, and yes, they did make me smile. I'm definitely excited to see what kind of Sparrow you're giving us! Unfortunately, I can't help but feel a bit ripped off anyway. Not only does a newer player pay less than I have already paid, but I still have to pay an extra $40 and still miss out on content. That just doesn't seem right.
Right now I'm kind of banking on the "and more at launch" part of the VIP Rewards.
During a stream today Deej said you guys actually read these, and judging by House of Wolves, I definitely believe him. Thank you for your time. I hope you understand that my intention isn't to complain. I just feel wronged by all this. But hey, The Taken King looks great so far. I'm loving all the new additions and I can't wait to see what else you have in store.

Makes sense, why pay for all year1 content as it is, for the most part, rendered obsolete by TTK. Why not just admit it's a do over, include vanilla destiny and DLC's with it and make it ALL 40$. The money isn't what bothers me as much as the content I bought being pretty much useless without TTK
