While I did have experience with Atari since my uncle had one when I was a kid, I grew up in the Nintendo Age. Got my first Nintendo when I was about 5 or so. Mario is awesome and a lot of fun, but I enjoyed Final Fantasy and Zelda more. I guess I was a sucker for those puzzle and adventure games. My favourite Zelda has to be a tie between the original, Link to the past, and Ocarina of Time. My favourite Final Fantasy though is 9 with 7 and 10 right behind it.

I too was probably 7 ish when I was getting into the Atari with my older brother. My personal fav of the final fantasy series has to be 7 (but 9 was very good). Also worth a mention is the original half life, that was out of this world when it was released. And we must not forget Doom!

  • Of course, the Half Life series. Can't forget that classic. Those were the good old days. No having to connect to internet, no lag, no one to bother you while you run around the worlds playing your game. Now you have tons of lag, cheap companies giving you half assed products, trolls trying everything in their power to ruin your experience while playing a game. Sometimes, I feel the further along we get with games, the less content they have. I remember dropping at least 120 hours into games like the Final Fantasy series. And that's without running a lot of things more than once or having to grind out a particular game mode. While here in Destiny, someone can say "Oh, I easily have triple that amount of time in Destiny. Your argument is invalid" and while that's true, how many of those hours were running strikes? Or running crucible?

  • Agree with you there, while I am absolutely addicted to Destiny when you compare to classics like the final fantasy series the content seems so much more repetitive and is churned out with a little to much emphasis on their bottom line rather than player experience.
